Energy and Chakra Balancing with Crystal Bowls and Sound Healing
Using the 7 set chakra crystal bowls which are perfectly tuned to align with the vibration of each chakra, Derek will conduct a sound healing energy bath where you can relax and totally immerse yourself in the healing sound vibrations. Your energy body will be cleansed, removing unwanted and negative blockages, and realigned, allowing you to move forward in your life more positively and creatively.
The holistic approach takes into account the person's whole being, and not just their physical symptoms or problems. An initial consultation will be taken, where the effects on the body arising from the environment and nutrition is considered. The holistic massage that I practice is based on the Swedish method but I use my skills and experience to adapt the massage to the individual and incorporate movements from other styles that I have learned. You should allow an hour for this whole body treatment. This can be adapted to focus more on specific areas, such as lower back, shoulders and neck etc. .
A gentle, slow, rhythmic massage with warm oils to calm the mind, ease tension and re-balance energy flow. Working on the meridians the aim is to unblock and remove stagnant energy and originates in Mongolia where it helps overcome seasonal depression during the long winter months.
Mongolia, the “Land of the Blue Sky” is legendary for its wide open plains and big open skies as well as its strong shamanic culture.
A full massage may usually last about an hour
The Hopi, the ancient Pueblo Indian people with great medicinal knowledge and a high degree of spirituality, brought their knowledge of the use of ear candles to Europe. Historically the Shamanic use of ear candles can be found amongst the peoples of the Siberian prairies, Asia and native North and South American Indians where they were believed to be used for visionary work and trance.
Commonly used for physical ailments such as helping to loosen and clear earwax, vertigo and balance dysfunctions, sinus problems, I use them to work on a deeper energetic level where they clear and balance the head and can help with stress, anxiety, emotional issues and energy blockages. Deeply relaxing, they can be beneficial for the physical and emotional body.
Made from a fine cloth, beeswax and herbs the candles are gently inserted into the opening of the ear, and lit, one at a time, and burnt like a candle. A light suction action and the movement of the flame creates a vibration of air in the ear candle. This generates a massage-like effect on the ear-drum as well as the "spaces" throughout our head, the sinuses. It can, therefore, be beneficial for ear, nasal and head problems. The whole ceremony induces a feeling of relaxation and inner well being. The treatment is finished off with a gentle facial massage, aiding sinus drainage and balancing the facial muscles, helping to increase the benefits of the candles.
You should allow about an hour for this full treatment including the beneficial face massage which helps to balance the facial muscles and the inner sinuses.
Indian head massage is a therapy that uses massage techniques on the arms, shoulders, neck, face and scalp. This is to relax the muscles, stimulate blood flow, create harmony within oneself and promote the body’s healing abilities. It is common for our stress to be held in our upper back and shoulders, often due to poor posture and work place ergonomics with pc's and desks. This pain often travels up the neck and into our head muscles creating further stress and tension. An Indian Head Massage works on the upper back, shoulders, neck and onto the head and face to release and relax this tension holistically to leave you in a fully relaxed and blissful place.
Indian head massage can be traced back to Ayurvedic texts dating back 4000 years. Originally, Indian women used the techniques to keep their long hair in beautiful condition and they used the massage movements on their children to keep them in good health. It has been adapted to western needs to include the upper body, the back and the arms, which can be a common area of stress induced aches and pains.
A full Indian Head Massage usually lasts about 40 minutes
Massaging the feet to benefit the body is a very ancient practice with links back to the physician Ankhmahor at around 2,300 BC in Egypt.
Reflexology is a holistic therapy that helps to create a balance in the body’s system through manipulation of related areas mapped out on the feet. Not only is Reflexology soothing and realaxing but by using finger pressure on precise points of the foot, toxins can be cleared, endorphins released to relieve pain and the whole body brought back into harmonious balance.
A full session lasts about 50 minutes
This healing energy is channelled through the healer and into the clients’ physical and energy body. It is a gentle, relaxing hands on technique that is performed while the patient is fully dressed and all that is required of the client is a willingness to accept the healing. The client may feel a pleasant sensation of warmth, coldness or a gentle tingling in the area treated. A full Reiki treatment will last about an hour and is usually carried out on a couch.
Reiki is a natural form of healing that helps to reduce stress and induces relaxation, both of which are important to promote healing. As the energy comes into balance, stress and tension are released and there is a deep sense of relaxation and feeling of well being.
Reiki can have a positive influence on your spiritual growth. It supports you in making necessary changes in attitudes and lifestyle to promote a healthier and happier life.
Reiki Training and Attunements
I am an experienced Reiki master and have worked at developing this energy over a number of years. I offer Reiki training and attunements and a Reiki support and training group and feel it very important for a Reiki Master to provide back up to all who train with them. The attunement is carried out in a warm, loving and relaxed atmosphere, with each aspect of training being geared to you as an individual. The attunement may be carried out in the beautiful peaceful setting of Raven Hill in the sacred circle and labyrinth.
Stone massage therapy has been used in many different cultures for many years. Healers used rocks from the river beds and warmed them either in hot coals or hot water. Specific heated stones are chosen and placed along the energy centres of the body so the soothing heat radiates deep into the muscles. Heated stones are used during the massage which can be deeper and more intense as heat penetrates the body and relaxes the muscles creatimg "waves of pleasure".
These stones are sustainably sourced from the North Cornwall coast area, combining the elemental energy of the sea and the earth to utilise the natural essence of the wild rugged shore.
Sea Stones - Hot Stone Therapy can help in the treatment of the following problems; muscular aches, pains, and strains, rheumatic and arthritic conditions, Multiple Sclerosis, Fibromyalgia, back pain, and insomnia. It also helps to improve circulation and can help reduce stress, anxiety, tension and depression.
In certain cases cold stones can also be used to help muscular injury and inflammation or around the face for instance. Warm stones expand the blood vessels, helping to move blood faster round the body, sedating the nervous system. The application of cold stones stimulates the nervous system by causing the blood vessels to contract and increasing the lymph flow of waste materials round the body.
During a treatment the client lies on a couch or a series of flat hot and cool stones - covered by a thick towel - that trace the spine. The therapist applies oil to the skin and glides the stones across the body’s meridian lines. In some treatments large stones are placed on the body, in the palms of the hands, and coin-sized stones are lightly wedged between the toes. Heated Chakra stones align and balance chief energy centres, benefiting the whole body, not just specific areas.
You should allow about 1.5 hours for this session
Healing has been used for thousands of years. It is an energy which flows between the healer and the patient, bringing a sense of peace and relaxation. Healing has been studied scientifically and is capable of being measured, however, it does not conform to the generally accepted rules of physical science.
The channelled energy which is passed from healer to client can be applied to a particular area to help stimulate natural recovery and to bring peace of mind. It is not necessary for the client to have faith but a willingness for self-recovery does help.
There are two basic forms of healing. Personal contact between the healer and client, sometimes called the laying on of hands and absent or distant healing where the energy can be directed by the healer. This is for those who are unable to be present at a hands-on session.
The healer will help you to relax mentally and physically, by allowing the healing energy to flow to you by laying their hands on or close to you. Clients usually feel warmth, coolness or a tingling sensation. It helps for the client to think about moving towards harmony of body, mind and spirit.
Healing can never be guaranteed to produce either an improvement or a cure. Despite this, treatment offered by a trained and experienced healer will never do harm and in most cases will produce a marked improvement.
I am a full practicing healer, registered under the World Federation of Healers.
